I mentioned in the Peripheral Visions Industry Forum that I met Anna Varendorff who shed some light on running an arts and commercial jewellery practice. I hope to also have the opportunity to pursue my work in the same way. Anna works in both sculpture and jewellery. Her work involves the creation of geometric brass, silver and gold objects with simplistic lines and finishes. Polished and uncluttered. Her explorative practice involves the combination of light + sound + sculpture. I think what was most valuable about the forum is that it highlighted that these artists and designers are much like ourselves with successes and failures of their own. It is the reason why these artist/designer talks and events are so important to attend.
